UFII Fellowships

Awarding of Fellowships is on hold, pending the appointment of a new UFII director.

With the UFII Fellowship Programs, the Informatics Institute aims to develop and nurture integrative informatics, data science, machine learning, AI research and educational studies. Both programs serve as share-of-cost awards in order to serve as supplemental support for a post-doctoral associate and/or graduate student already selected and/or employed by a college, department or mentoring PI at the University of Florida.

Graduate Students

 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  1. Nominator must meet the UF PI eligibility requirements as they will be listed as the PI of the award 
  2. Must be interdisciplinary (at least two departments/units/colleges) 
  3. Graduate student must be currently enrolled in a Doctoral program 
  4. Graduate student must be currently employed by their home department/college/or mentoring PI 
  5. Graduate student must be nominated by their doctoral program 
  6. Student’s research must meet at least one of the thematic areas listed below 
  7. Maximum of 3 nominations allowed per graduate program 

Thematic Areas: 

  1. Core Data Science and Informatics Techniques and Technologies 
  2. Biomedical and Life Science Informatics and Big Data Analytics 
  3. Informatics and Big Data Analytics for Engineered Systems and the Physical Sciences 
  4. Informatics and Big Data Analytics in Social Science, Humanities and Education 
  5. Informatics and Big Data Analytics in Agricultural Science 

Funding Amount: up to $45,000 

Duration: 2 years 

Application Deadline: January 21, 2022 

Post-Doctoral 

 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  1. Mentor must meet the UF PI eligibility requirements as they will be listed as the PI of the award 
  2. Must be interdisciplinary (at least two departments/units/colleges) 
  3. Post-Doctoral dissertation research must meet at least one of the thematic areas listed below 
  4. Post-Doctoral candidate must be currently employed in department/college/unit/or by mentoring PI 

Thematic Areas: 

  1. Core Data Science and Informatics Techniques and Technologies 
  2. Biomedical and Life Science Informatics and Big Data Analytics 
  3. Informatics and Big Data Analytics for Engineered Systems and the Physical Sciences 
  4. Informatics and Big Data Analytics in Social Science, Humanities and Education 
  5. Informatics and Big Data Analytics in Agricultural Science 

Funding Amount: up to $55,000 

Duration: 1 year
