Research Data Management Workshop #5: Funder Data Management Policies

Workshop Summary:

Development of a university-wide research data management (RDM) policy requires RDM conversations and collaborations between key campus stakeholders. Participants will gain an awareness of the developments of university-wide research data management policy efforts at UF that started in 2018 resulting in a draft in 2019 with efforts resuming in 2021. Participants will understand the key stakeholders in RDM policy development while developing RDM policy development knowledge relevant to their communities of practice.

Course contents:

In this workshop, participants will learn:

• What is the aim of an institutional university-wide research data management policy?
• What are the research data management policies of funders for researchers at UF?
• What are the research data policies of the top 15 institutional peers of UF?
• How to use the University of Cambridge Research Data Management Policy Framework as a model for developing data management standard operating procedures (SOPs)
