Birds-of-a-Feather: Introduction of Machine Learning on Physical Sciences

Tuesday, January 31, 2023
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual Event via Zoom

With the overwhelming interest from the UF community in using HiPerGator AI to conduct Artificial Intelligence (AI) research, Research Computing (RC) is continuing its series: Birds of a Feather (BOF) sessions.

Recent years we have seen a tremendous increase in cases where Machine Learning (ML) models are used for scientific processing and discovery. Similarly, instances where tools and insights from the physical sciences are brought to the study of ML models. For this BOF, we will give an overview of the resources, frameworks, and tools available for Machine Learning tasks, and introduce a few examples of how to use new approaches in ML and deep learning (DL) to solving challenging open problems in physical sciences.

This event is free, but registration is required in order to attend. The Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants prior to the event.

Additional BOF sessions will cover other topics and we encourage you to submit ideas for BOF groups and topics.

For any questions regarding the current session and upcoming Research Computing AI events, please contact Ying Zhang, yingz@ufl.edu.
